Why you should avoid Formaldehyde?
Formaldehyde is a common ingredient in many hair-smoothing treatments. While harmless in liquid form, it releases toxic gas when heated, which is carcinogenic and can affect both clients and stylists. Exposure may cause eye, nose, and lung irritation, along with skin sensitivity or allergic reactions, making it unsafe for regular use.
Step 1
Wash the hair with Keraology Crystallise Shampoo for 2-3 minutes and massage gently -
- For very tight curls & virgin hair, wash the hair three times.
- For chemically damaged hair (e.g., color- treated, re-bonded), wash it two times.
- For sensitive and burnt hair, wash one time
Step 2
-For virgin, henna and metallic dyed hair - 100% blast dry*
-For damaged hair - 80% blast dry* keeping 20% of hair damp
- For sensitive/burnt hair - 50-60% blast dry
- Use cold air for the scalp and medium heat for the mid-length.
Note: Blast dry should be done in medium heat
Step 3
- Part the hair into 4 sections.
- Apply Keraology Blue Sapphire BTX Hair Refiller / Collatin Nano Plastia Smoothening Hair Retriever with an application brush, section by section, 1/2 inch away from the scalp and emulsify it properly.
Step 4
-Once the application is complete, cover the client's hair with a plastic cap.
- Allow the product to process (incubate) for minimum 30-45 minutes.
Step 5
- For virgin/henna/ metallic dyed hair- no rinse
- For damaged/coloured/straight hair- 20-30% rinse
- For burnt/sensitive - 40- 50% rinse
Note: Use 150ml of water, either spray.
Step 6
- Blast dry 100% with medium heat initially till 80% of the hair is dried. Rest 20% with a paddle brush, blow dry till the hair is 100% dried.
Note: Make sure you take fine sections while blow drying.
Step 7
Ironing
- For virgin/henna/metallic dyed hair - Use the flat iron at 230°C, 13-15 strokes
- For damaged/coloured/straight hair - Use the flat iron at 210°C, 10-12 strokes
- For sensitive/burnt hair - Use the flat iron at 170°C - 190°C, 8-10 strokes
- For best results take thin hair sections to properly penetrate the treatment into the cuticles.
Adjust the temperature as per the texture and type of hair.
Step 8
-Follow up with masque and keep it for 5-7 mins
- Rinse it off
-Blast dry the hair at 100%
-Use keraology Clarifying shampoo for Botox treatment/ Nano Plastia .
